On August 8th, 2019, Site Barricades staff and family attended the Outdoor Adventures Sporting Clays & TTHA Kick-Off Party supporting the Outdoor Tomorrow Foundation. The all-day event was held at the Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch in Fort Worth, TX.
The mission of the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation is to teach outdoor education and to promote and fund conservation of wildlife worldwide. Founded in 1981, OTF pioneered the first public educational curriculum for secondary schools in Texas called “Outdoor Trails.” In 2007, a complete curriculum rewrite helped merit accreditation by the Texas Education Association for the newly named “Outdoor Adventures” (OA) program.
Today, with the guidance and direction of Education Coordinator Scot McClure, OTF has established the OA education program in 465 schools across 30 states. OTF provides curriculum and equipment grants to schools who have adopted Outdoor Adventures as well as providing avenues for teacher training and workshops without charge. OTF has had great success partnering with State agencies and conservation organizations to expand its life changing outdoor education program.
With about 46,000 students currently enrolled, OTF plans to continue expanding the OA program nationwide. Generous community support of these programs ensures a tradition of promoting ethics, values and wildlife conservation.
Site Barricades is proud to be a supporter of the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation and its mission to bring a love of the outdoors to a new generation.
